Archives - A mine of information - Ordering Photographs

We have over 14,000 images of the Wakatipu, from significant landscapes through to candid snapshot images of daily life – and our collection is growing weekly.

If you have any photographs of the Wakatipu in your collection you are willing to donate, we would love to hear from you. We are currently interested in slides and photographs from the 1920s – 1970s.

Through the dedicated work of archivists over the years, much of our photographic collection has been digitised. This means copies are now easily made without causing any damage to the originals. Very exciting news indeed!

If you would like to order one of those photographs, please contact to arrange the purchase. We can either put the images on a CD for you or send you a Dropbox link so you can then have them printed in the format that you want.

Photographic Terms and Conditions

Fees are charged for each image. These fees go towards the ongoing maintenance and digitisation of the Lakes District Museum’s photographic and archival collection.
